rare 1972 UK first press DJM with translucent deep red vinyl & textured G&L envelop gatefold cover !!


rare UK first press vinyl LP released on black/yellow DJM stereo label with catalognumber DJLPH 423. The original heavily textured envelope cover has a leatherlike finish with foldover tab section, embossed text, internally printed lyrics and on the front a "pasted-on" EJ photo -- "Printed and made by Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd." ... comes complete with the original poly-lined  innersleeve with "U.K. Patent Number and Foreign Patents Pending Text printed in blue ink.  Matrixnumbers are:  DJLPH 423 A2 (etched 'Bobil')   and  DJLPH 423 B2 (etched 'Rasputin') ... The record is pressed on what at first sight appears to be normal black vinyl, but when held up to the light it reveals its true deep red translucent colour - great copy and they do not come better than this! Cover and vinyl all in pristine NEARMINT/MINT condition - perfect!  Fantastic Elton John masterpiece feat. the famous "Rocket Man" recorded with true audiophile soundquality... see photo.
