'LADY SAMANTHA / ALL ACROSS THE HAVENS'
on the original PHILIPS RECORDS 45RPM BF 1739 from 1969
Early material from a young singer-songwriting team of John and Taupin.
Elton's voice still 'unseasoned' but of tangible determination!
A fine single that got some airplay at the time, mainly on Radio Luxembourg I recall. This was at a time when fledgling artists such as David Bowie, Marc Bolan and Elton were getting their first breaks, unheard of by the masses but keen to change that situation.
Elton's band probably included Caleb Quaye of Hookfoot, at the time.
(Incidentally, I would think the flip-side title was a misprint that should have read 'All Across The Heavens')
This is a rare collectible, especially in this condition, and on this ORIGINAL FIRST ISSUE lable.
The VINYL is outstanding NEAR MINT-, a nice copy!
Matt LABLES are wonderfully clean and bright EX, no stickers, pen or stains.
