Ultra-rare charity single limited to a pressing of 500!

Rocket records GOALD 1, 1977.

Tracklist: The Goaldiggers Song/Jimmy, Brian, Elton & Eric

This is an original 1977 push-out centre pressing of one of Elton's rarest singles. Recorded to raise money for the Goaldiggers football charity (formed to provide football pitches in deprived areas of the UK), these were mail-order only and cost the princely sum of a fiver - big money in 1977. The A-side is just Elton and piano, the B-side is a (mostly) spoken word piece explaining about the charity, featuring the voices of Jimmy Hill, Brian Moore, Elton and the fabulous Eric Morecambe. It comes in a Rocket records company sleeve.

The Record Collector Price Guide currently lists this at £300 in Mint condition - this copy is not far off, and could be yours for less - if you bid today!!

Condition of record: Very Good +/Excellent.  The vinyl is still glossy and is unmarked; there is a tiny amount of crackle (probably dust in the grooves)in places, but nothing that really interferes with the listening experience. The labels are clean with no writing and no spindle marks are apparent.

Condition of sleeve: Very Good +. It is a die-cut company sleeve, with no tears or creases. (see scan).
