The record you are considering is a extremely RARE ORIGINAL 1968 US MONO PROMO copy of ELVIN JONES & RICHARD DAVIS's LP titled "Heavy Sounds".
LABEL- IMPULSE! Records, A-9160.
They did not make MONO covers in 1968, so there is a "MONAURAL PROMOTION" sticker over the word "STEREO", top left of front and bottom of back!
BAND- ELVIN JONES, co-leader, drums & his first and only appearance on guitar (photo inside cover); RICHARD DAVIS, co-leader & bass; Frank FOSTER, tenor sax; Billy GREENE, piano.

SIDE 1- "Raunchy Rita"(Foster), "Shiny Stockings"(Foster), "M.E."(Greene).
SIDE 2- "Summertime", "Elvin's Guitar Blues"(Jones), "Rainy Day".
CONDITION:
Gatefold Cover is a Near MINT!!!, NO cut corners or punch holes! Slight finish wear! Has slightest hint of corner wear to one or two corners. Edges are strong and beautiful, Near PERFECT!!
Vinyl looks a Nice VG++ to Near MINT!!, plays close. With a few random light ticks at the most. Has a couple non-audible light marks. No surface! GREAT SOUNDl!!!!
Label is a White Label PROMO!!!

The COLLECTION is probably from a BLACK RADIO distributor. Most are PROMO's!! Strong numbers of certain labels. Few Motown.
R&B, SOUL, FUNK, BLUES, JAZZ, COMEDY, GOSPEL and related items!!! Other than the SOUL and R&B, they were played likely once or twice!!
