ELVIS COSTELLO & THE ATTRACTIONS – INTRODUCES THE TRACKS ON HIS NEW ALBUM “ALMOST BLUE” – WHITE LABEL PROMO ONLY - F Beat E.C. Chat 1 (Stereo 33 rpm 12 Inch). Disc is Mint Minus; Labels are Near Mint Plus; Sleeve is VG++ (surface wear).
This unique Promo Only LP, personally autographed by Elvis and each of the Attractions, finds Elvis discussing the Making Of his "Almost Blue" LP, pressed for the sole purpose of advertising and promoting the album in 1981. Intended to be used by DJs to introduce any or all cuts on the album, each musical performance here is preceded by Elvis providing direct, spoken word information about the recording or how he came to discover the songs and the artists who inspired him to record them and make the LP in the first place. Mentioned by Elvis are George Jones, Gram Parsons, producer Billy Sherrill, Don Gibson, Charlie Rich, Charles Aznavour and even Elvis as Dean Martin! The LP sleeve is a generic white wrapper with pasted on front and rear slicks, purposely designed by Elvis to look like an unauthorized pressing. A serial number is noted on the front cover, 000694, above illustrations and autographs of Elvis, Pete Thomas, Steve Neive and Bruce Thomas. Only 1,000 copies of this album were pressed, so it's quite rare and obviously most collectible. Elvis Costello, unlike any artist before him, was acutely aware of record collectors and designed many of his releases with collectors in mind, as evidenced by this and many other of his releases. All vinyl records from VinylKing46 (eBay’s ORIGINAL VINYLKING) are pre-cleaned and inserted into paper inner sleeves before mailing to Buyer (unless factory sealed). Discs are packaged separately from LP sleeve to protect against seam splitting (unless factory sealed). LP jackets are inserted into mylar outer sleeves and albums are shipped in LP-specific boxes and packed with bubble wrap.
I grade conservatively and by Goldmine standards. All gradings are visual.
