Elvis Costello and the Attractions - Oliver's Army
Very Rare Original UK 7inch One-Sided Acetate (lacquer applied to a heavy base of aluminium) individually hand cut on a lathe at Portland Recording Studios, London, for Radar Records in 1979, with artist and song details written in pen by the engineer. The extra hole seen in the photo of the rear of the disc was there to help hold the disc steady when being cut.

Started life in the 1950's as I.B.C. Studios and was purchased by Chas Chandler in 1978, who changed the name to Portland Recording Studios. He sold the studio on to Don Arden and Jet Records, who owned and operated the studios until July 1985 when it was sold and converted into offices.
Only five or six copies of such acetates were generally made, so this is a very scarce item, even assuming all of them have survived.
I have owned this for the last 43 years, having obtained it directly from someone who had contacts at the record company. I only ever played it maybe three or four times, most recently to check the condition.
