It has been called the greatest white soul album on the planet.
Cut by Elvis after a 14-year absence from Memphis, it contains pop, country, and blues as well, but it is the soul of Elvis we get to see so readily here, and with one of the finest back-up bands he ever recorded with.
Great numbers include IN THE GHETTO, WEARIN’ THAT LOVED ON LOOK, LONG BLACK LIMOUSINE, TRUE LOVE TRAVELS ON A GRAVEL ROAD, and ONLY THE STRONG SURVIVE, among others.
A fine prize, this copy like new in all ways, the vinyl within, cut by the Ortofon system, looks entirely unplayed, mint.
I dare say, this is the finest album Elvis ever released -- and this is its finest vinyl incarnation.
