ELVIS PRESLEY # 1 1956 Rock and roll 78 Love Me Tender/Anyway You Want Me (EE-)
ELVIS PRESLEY. RCA Victor 20-6643 (Cdn) Love Me Tender/Anyway You‘Love Me Tender’ has the king, up close and personal…voice, guitar and the Jordanairs. ‘Anyway You Want Me’ has (in my humble opinion) one of the coolest guitar intros in R&R history, with Scotty Moore predating Jimi Hendrix by ten or more years.
# 1 for five weeks in late 1956.
I’m happy to offer a nice copy of this gem – visual grade is a very nice and shiny E to E+ (E+ is my highest grade) with a few very light signs of use. Spot-checked. The disc plays nice and strong – like Elvis is in the room with you. Labels are fine and you get a nice vivid red and white ‘V’ sleeve too. Essential! Excellent copy too.

With the ever-rising costs of shipping 78s, I’m happy to hold records for you buyers who want to fill up a box – on a ‘pay as you go’ basis, please.
78s come in used but nice vintage green sleeves or, when possible, original company sleeves.
I do my spot-checking and play-testing on a Technics 1200 turntable with a Stanton 500 cartridge using a standard Stanton 2.7 mil 78 stylus. The amp is a mid-70s Pro-Linear with the mono switch activated. The speakers are small professional recording studio monitors (Yamaha NS 10) that are known for being overly bright – great for spotting that mild surface noise!
I ship 78s as I like to receive them - using the four-sheet 10” cardboard sandwich, foam chips, 12" x 12" x 4 "(or 6") box method.
I use standard 78 grading (E+, E, E-, V+, V, V- etc). I’ll sometimes use double plus or minus signs to really hone in on the shape.

Small Packet surface has been discontinued. I can offer Tracked Packet air shipping (with tracking number and up to $100.00 insurance) for a few dollars more.
CANADIAN BUYERS – the shipping calculator will give you rates for surface shipping. Also, since I’m mailing from British Columbia, 12 % HST (on shipping only) will be added to the invoice of all Canadian orders.
ALL OTHER INTERNATIONAL BUYERS - shipping calculator rates are for non-insured Small Packet airmail. I can offer Tracked Packet air shipping for up to two 78s (with tracking number and up to $100.00 insurance) for several dollars more. Write for more details. International surface shipping can take a long time to reach you – up to two months – so is not recommended.
I've had to add a small fee to help cover the extra costs of: 1. packing materials (boxes, cardboard pads, foam chips, etc), 2. eBay’s final-value-fees on shipping charges, 3. fees incurred by PayPal on shipping charges.
There is no ‘handling charge’ for the time I take to properly pack your precious, fragile 78 for safe travel.
