Description

Up for auction is a RARE lp from The King of Rock himself --- ELVIS PRESLEY for his classic Debut Self Titled album - 'Elvis Presley'
This lp was released in 1956 on RCA Victor in Mono format as LPM 1254 (back states LPM-1254 RE) .
Label is black with silver lettering. Dog is 'shaded'. Original 1956 Pressing!

Condition:
LP is in VG Condition.
Album Cover - Very Clean with nice and tight binding! Small tear on top center portion of top seam. Light/Standard Shelf wear otherwise!!

Hello, I had a question on whether or not this was sold in the year 1956 in which this was originally released. the answer is YES. After reading further on a fan/collector website I found that the matrix numbers:
SIDE 1: "G2 PP1282-20S"  / SIDE 2: G2 PP1283-12S.
The "G" corresponds with the year in which RCA Victor released it, which apparently indicates it was indeed from a 1956 year run.
There is also a "H" in the dead/trail off wax which indicates that it was pressed in Hollywood.
The label does have the "New Orthophonic" which also means that it was pressed in 1956, but these labels were printed later that same year. Still, yes - this is a "First Press" from the year 1956.
