Original Elvis LP von 1956! Die legendäre erste LP von ihm. Hierbei handelt es sich um die Army Pressung. Die meisten Sammler wissen, dass Teldec in den Jahren 1956/57 neben ihrem Standardprogramm auch einige RCA Platten speziell für die damaligen PX Läden herstellte. Verwendet wurde zwar deutsches Vinyl mit manuf. in germany in den Auslaufrillen, als Label entschied ma´n sich für eine Mischung aus damaligem US dog on top (Made in USA, Long Play und Nipper/Grammophon in schwarz-weiss(!)) und deutschem Aufdruck (Resco/Biem, LPM-1254-C(!)). Das Cover entspricht der US ERstpressung mit rosa/grüner RCA Box, auf der Rückseite befindet sich ein PX Stempel. Ein Verkauf außerhalb der erwähnten PX Läden fand nicht statt, nach 1957 wurden dort lediglich normale deutsche Pressungen verkauft. Platten mit diesem Label tauchen auch auf ebay sehr selten auf, ein besserer Zustand als VG+ ist annähernd unmöglich, so meine Erfahrung. Wahre Elvis Enthusiasten dürften eine Near Mint kaum unter 1000 Euro einstufen, hier ein brauchbares Exemplar für einen günstigen Startpreis!

Very interesting and rare Elvis LP! This is the first Elvis LP from 1956 and it is a very special pressing: Teldec had the licence to produce RCA records in Germany and they created a very special label in the years 1956 and 1957 for their RCA records. These records had german pressed vinyl which indicates the stamp Manufactured in germany in the trailout-groove, but they used a label which was a mixture of US dog on top/Nipper logo and german RCA. However the Nipper is not in color as it was normal on US pressings, the number is LPM-1254-C(!) which was a unique german number for Elvis first LP. The label states Made in USA!! All records with that label were only sold in german PX stores, which made records available for US servicemen. These records were never sold in normal german music/record stores. The cover here is the US 1st Cover with light pink/green box, however backcover has the unique PX stamp. These had tiny production numbers and are today one of the most sought after pressings from germany. You can forget here MINT condition (price would be certainly more than 1000 dollars) , but even VG+ is extremely rare and valued at several hundred dollars. Condition is here far away from being perfect, however this is still a very nice package with an LP that still has very good audio. Very reasonable price for that rarity!!

Cover:  Good++, perhaps also a VG-, however conservative grading; cover looks very nice, however has general wear, name writing and tape, PX stamp on back   recht ordentlicher Gesamtzustand, allgemeine Gebrauchsspuren, minimale Abrisse vorne und hinten, Klebeband

LP/ record: Good many scratches and scuffs seen under very bright light, however these are quite normal signs of use for an Lp that was played with still clear voice, background noise, i played most parts of the record, still enjoyable, but of course not comparable to a new MINT lp! starke gebrauchsspuren, allerdings keine ungewöhnlichen Kratzer, habe einen Großteil der Lp abgespielt, insgesamt recht guter, klarer Klang, jedoch stärkeres Knistern. im großen und ganzen Gebrauchsspuren, die die meisten Rock and Roll LPs aus dieser Zeit aufweisen, da Plattenspieler damals das Vinyl recht schnell verschleissen ließen.
