ELVIS PRESLEY
FIRST (1st) original pressing from 1957
Elvis' CHRISTMAS Album
plus an album of new full color photos
the vinyl is visually and sonically graded per side:
A-side looks VG++ to near-mint overall, but with a visible scuff across the last song on this side:
"Santa Bring My Baby Back To Me". We spot-checked all of the songs on this side,
as well as the entire last song, and the vinyl has no obvious surface noise, plays great,
with crisp highs and warm sound.
The B-side looks Strong VG+ to VG++ overall. We play graded the entire side,
which is where all of the "quiet" songs are - and the first 2 tracks have light, unobtrusive,
random soft ticks and soft pops, and there's also a bit of "overload distortion"
a few times during each song - sounds like a rush job was done when the
master lacquer was cut, as there is nothing visible in the grooves that correlates
with this minor noise. The sound quality on the rest of the side improves after
these early tracks, with only the faintest random minor soft pop every now and then.
The overall sound is excellent on the rest of the side with crisp highs and nothing
intrusive going on in the background.
The booklet of photos is intact with no damage to the paper, but the staples have
some minor rusting. The corners of the outer jacket have wear - see photos.
There is NO seam-splitting, and the spine has only the faintest wear, with the
gold-colored printing mostly visible and not worn significantly, though the upper spine
has a bit of wear and the beginnings of separation / splitting for half an inch.
