ELVIS PRESLEY – A DATE WITH ELVIS (LPM-2011) FIRST PRESSING LABEL STYLE with SUPER RARE, NM NON-GATE FOLD COVER IN FULL ORIGINAL SHRINK WRAP!
RECORD: VG++ (EXC) with stunning, glossy surfaces! However, there are several very light paper sleeve scuffs that have no affect on the audible performance. This Rockaway pressing was played in full and it sounded fantastic! The labels are gorgeous, NM! This album was released in September of 1959 and includes many of Elvis’ classic 1950’s recordings previously heard exclusively on 45 RPM. The matrix numbers on this record end with 10S (stamped/6S (engraved).
COVER: NM non-gate fold with full original shrink wrap! This 1963 original cover is the absolute rarest of all “A Date With Elvis” covers, hands down! This non-gate fold cover is much more scarce than the original 1959 gate fold cover with 1960 calendar and to find one in full original shrink wrap is near impossible! Later monaural issues (1964-68) have a revised cover design which deletes the “box” to the upper right in favor of a frameless Dog & Gramophone logo and LPM-2011 was moved to the lower left corner on those later issues. The “Mayfield” store price sticker remains fully affixed to the back side. The original gray RCA Victor inner sleeve is included. Please note: additional photos without flash were taken as an alternative means of viewing this cover, omitting any obstruction from flash-back.
