 Up for auction we have: Elvis Presley, A Date With Elvis. Original Deep Groove, Mono pressing on RCA 2011. With red sticker  "Never Before on LP" tracklist.

RECORD is in VG++ condition with light marks, dust and fingerprints not affecting play. Plays clean and quiet. Sounds great with a few normal pops. Sounds fantastic!
COVER is VG++ with light shelf wear and corner wear. Gatefold is crisp with light wear. Overall a fantastic copy!

Record grading based on Goldmine standards, but with added NM- and VG++ for records that don't quite fall into either the NM or VG+ category so as not to be over graded:

Mint [M], or Still Sealed [SS]: Only sealed records will be deemed "Mint". 

Near Mint [NM]: The record shows no obvious sign of wear, appearing unplayed. An LP jacket has no creases, folds, seam splits or any other noticeable similar defect. No cut-out holes, either. Basically, Near Mint looks as if you just got it home from a new record store and removed the shrink wrap.

*Near Mint Minus [NM-], and [VG++]: Vinyl shows only faint paper scuffs or pressing scuffs on the surface only. No noise from scuffs will be heard. VG++ is for an LP with only a medium amount of paper scuffs and/or pressing scuffs, still no effect on play.

Very Good Plus [VG+]: Shows some signs that it was played and otherwise handled by a previous owner who took good care of it. Record surfaces may show some slight signs of wear and may have slight scuffs or very light scratches that don't affect one's listening experience. Slight warps that do not affect the sound are OK yet will be noted. An LP jacket my have slight signs of wear also and may be marred by a cut-out hole, indentation or corner indicating it was taken out of print and sold at a discount. In general, if not for a couple of minor things wrong with it, this would be Near Mint. All but the most mint-crazy collectors will find a Very Good Plus record highly acceptable.

Very Good [VG]: Many of the defects found in a VG+ record are more pronounced in a VG disc. Surface noise is evident upon playing, especially in soft passages and during the song's intro and fade, but will not overpower the music otherwise. Groove wear will start to be noticeable, as will light scratches deep enough to feel with a fingernail) that will affect the sound. Labels may be marred by writing, or have tape or stickers (or their residue) attached. The same will be true of picture sleeves or LP covers. However, it will not have all of these problems at the same time, only two or three of them.

Good [G], Good Plus [G+]: A record in Good or Good Plus condition can be put onto a turntable and will play through without skipping. But it will have significant surface noise and scratches and visible groove wear. A jacket or sleeve has seam splits, especially at the bottom or on the spine. Tape, writing, ring wear or other defects will start to overwhelm the object. 

Poor [P], Fair [F]: I do not list records in this category unless exceptionally rare and desirable. They will have skips, cracks and/or noise that prevents the enjoyment of the music.

Update: I answered a question pertaining to the corner wear/damage on the backside upper corner of the gatefold and it should have been public, but it didn't seem to show up in the Q&A. Here is the information:

Q: Please can you email me or post an image of the corner of the gatefold that seams to have taken a hit at some time or another, causing the yellow coloured card to bend.
How does the final look under a bright light inspection?

A: Hello. Thanks for your questions and concerns. I have made several attempts to take a picture that accurately shows the corner in question so I will try to explain the wear and will provide what I have. Please if you have further questions or concerns let me know. It looks like the major cause was more of a manufacturing flaw where the corners were not glued or tucked correctly and eventually came undone slightly which caused the corners to be unprotected and any bumps thereafter caused more damage than usual. Both corners of the top gatefold exhibit this, but moreso the left side above the "A" in a A Date With Elvis. Corner is more rounded and the overlap is peeling up and frayed a bit. I hope this explains the flaw.

Just to be clear to everyone involved, this is NOT a "MINT" example of this record and I have not described as such. Please consider your bid if you expect a MINT record without flaws and this will be an issue when you receive the record. It is however a very nice copy with some minor superficial wear.
