Description
Elvis Presley
Blue Suede Shoes / Hound Dog
RCA 1095
Condition
This is in good+ condition with minor surface wear and nice clean labels with very little spindle wear. It comes in a generic 78 cover not the RCA label cover.
On offer here is a very MEGA MEGA RARE chance to own a copy of "HOUND DOG" B/W "BLUE SUEDE SHOES" on the BLACK RCA 1095 LABEL from 1958
THIS IS ONE OF THE RAREST OF ALL ELVIS 78'S. ALL HIS EARLY 78'S WERE RELEASED ON THE HMV POP LABEL AND ARE RELATIVELY COMMON. HOUND DOG WAS ORIGINALLY RELEASED ON HMV POP 249 IN 1956 AND BLUE SUEDE SHOES ON HMV POP 213 ALSO IN 1956. AT THE SAME TIME THESE SONGS WERE ALSO RELEASED ON THE 45 RPM FORMAT
WHEN THIS EXAMPLE WAS RELEASED AT THE END OF 1958 78'S WERE BEING PHASED OUT AND HARDLY ANYONE WAS BUYING THEM. IN FACT HMV HAD ALREADY STOPPED ISSUING 78'S ALTOGETHER EARLIER IN 1958 AND SOON RCA WERE TO FOLLOW SUIT. DO NOT UNDERESTIMATE HOW RARE THIS ITEM IS 45'S OF THIS COMBINATION OCCASIONALLY TURN UP BUT HARDLY EVER DO YOU SEE AN EXAMPLE ON 78 RPM
The record will be sent out in adequate packaging and will be insured. I have graded the record as carefully as I can using the Record Collector UK Grading System.
I use the UK 'RECORD COLLECTOR' gradings which are as follows:
- MINT - The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as SEALED or UNPLAYED should be MINT.
- EXCELLENT - The record shows some signs of having been played but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
- VERY GOOD - The record has obviously been played many times but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without major defects is acceptable.
- GOOD - The record has been played so much that the sound has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents may suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration etc.
-
FAIR: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and / or defaced.
