WOW!!! WOW!!! WOW!!! MEGARARE and Hard-To-Find original RCA Victor Records very first “New Ortophonic” High Fidelity Mono press released and made in Chile late 1957 by RCA S.A. Electrónica, and distributed by Corporación De Radio De Chile S.A. (CRC Records), catalog number LOC-1035, with machine etched matrix numbers A PP 6526 in Side A and PP 6527 in Side B, with traditional black/silver RCA Victor labels and UNIQUE custom seasonal “dog” logo at top. Yes, Sirs, ANOTHER FIND from Chile!!!

“Elvis' Christmas Album” was originally released in October 1957 in USA and late the same year we got this album released here in Chile, and like in so many cases of the period we also got an UNIQUE COVER. Cover is made of a single piece of thin cardboard folded in the middle, with flaps of front cover pasted on the back cover. If you know this album you already know this Chilean press is considered the RAREST PRESS WORLDWIDE of “Elvis' Christmas Album”, because of the UNIQUE PICTURE SLEEVE and UNIQUE SPANISH-WRITTEN SONG TITLES. Front cover has a picture of Elvis Presley, taken from a publicity photo for film “Jailhouse Rock” (the same picture is also used in original Brazilian press of this album), with album title and tracklist written in Spanish only. Back cover is also different, it has the album title and artist’s name printed in turquoise lettering, with the tracklist written in Spanish only and a brief review of the album also written in Spanish only. In labels the album title and tracklist are written in Spanish only, with full credits for songwriters only and for The Jordanaires in songs numbers 3 and 6 of Side B, with additional information about taxes and original price printed in Side A. About the price, this is the only way to know if the record corresponds to a very first run or not. The original price is “$ 5.000.-” and it’s printed below the catalog number at right side of the spindle hole. Seconds runs have the same price but printed at left side of the spindle hole, below the taxes credits. And as you can see, the price is printed at right side in this copy!!! But, you can only see the word “Price”, not the number, because it was deleted with black pen even though you can still see the price if you watch it with patience under a strong light. It’s also interesting to notice that sides are identified “Lado 1” (Side 1) and “Lado 2” (Side 2) in back cover and only “A” and “B” in labels. But maybe the most interesting fact to notice is the “plural” translation, because everybody say “Merry Christmas” (Feliz Navidad) in Spanish and the album title was in plural: “Felices Navidades” (Merry Christmases). So, here you have the chance to get and own this historical record by Elvis Presley in this MEGARARE PRESS with an UNIQUE COVER, UNIQUE PICTURE SLEEVE and UNIQUE ALBUM TITLE, with all the text written in Spanish only, a record rarely seen and sure A MUST TO HAVE for all lovers, fans and collectors of Elvis Presley, the ORIGINAL and AUTHENTIC VERY FIRST RUN of “Elvis' Christmas Album” RELEASED IN CHILE and with CUSTOM SEASONAL LABELS!!! WOW!!!

The cover was already described and it’s in great VG or VG+ condition, clean and fully readable, with moderate wear in all edges, more evident in corners and with a 2 inches seam split in spine, with creases and some tears, with many faint blemishes, evident age browning in back cover and writings in front cover, but as you can see all the artwork is almost intact and top and bottom edges have “survived” solid and intact, almost a miracle for this so fragile kind of paper. In back cover, you can see the flap at top edge but at the bottom edge the flap is inside. I’m not sure if it’s a factory error because it has a mark of a tape or, maybe, the flap got unglued and then glued again but inside. Anyway, you can see that it doesn’t affect the look and text at all. The record is in nice VG or VG+ condition both sides, glossy and clean, but with many scuffs, hairlines and soft scratches, and it also has some marks/blemishes caused -in my opinion- for something used to clean the record, but don’t affect the play. Labels are in EX or EX+ condition both sides, clear and clean, with only some spindle hole wear, the grading is mostly influenced because of the price deleted with black pen. The sound is in strong VG- or VG condition both sides, loud, clear and clean, virtually no background noise (surface noise is normal in records from Chile), with constant soft crackles and regular light clicks, more evident in the silent parts between tracks and in the last seconds of each side, which don’t really cause major distraction from the loud and clear sound this record keeps from the beginning to the end. In song “It Is No Secret (What God Can Do)” I detected a pair of ticks and one of them sounds like a micro jump. Sure this record needs a deeper cleaning, ultra sonic. Overall, sure this record could not to be for strict Minty minds or audiophiles, but it keeps a very nice glossy and clean look, almost immaculate labels and still a very decent and respectable sound quality after 60 years, which shouldn’t disappoint anyone and will satisfy all serious collectors who know the real level of rarity of this record!!! And keep in mind this album has an UNIQUE COVER, UNIQUE PICTURE SLEEVE and UNIQUE ALBUM TITLE, SPANISH-WRITTEN SONG TITLES and CUSTOM SEASONAL LABELS!!! And the best of the best, THIS IS THE ORIGINAL AND AUTHENTIC VERY FIRST RUN, with price printed at right side of the spindle hole!!! WOW!!! Bid with confidence and don’t wait until the last second because you could lose the chance to get a real collectable record from Chile (South America) in superb condition like this copy is. You know South American records aren’t easy to get in good conditions, so HAPPY BIDDING and don’t let this record to go away… you could never see a so good copy of this record again… if you are lucky enough to see even another copy again…

We don’t use the generic “VG” most of South American sellers use to hide poor quality conditions or “NM” or “Mint” for records which aren’t even clean and sound less than a normal “VG” in professional standards. We use the Record Collector’s Grading System with a little modification: we don’t use MINT grade but for Sealed records and we can use a + or – to show a most professional accurate description.

MINT (M): I only use this grade for Sealed records.

NEAR MINT (NM): The record itself is in like new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality (only some very very very light hairlines caused for the record rubbing the sleeve). The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in like perfect condition.

EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality, maybe some surface marks which doesn’t affect play. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

FAIR (F): The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

POOR (P): The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD (B): The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.

GBP15 for weight until 1kg (usually 1 or 2 records 12" depending on thickness of the vinyl)

All records will be packed outside of the sleeve to avoid damages in the cover and all records will be sent with tracking number via Small Packet or Parcel Post services.
