ELVIS PRESLEY CLAMBAKE RARE MONO RCA PROMO LP IN SHRINK
From late 1967 comes this original mono promo pressing of Elvis Presley's Clambake soundtrack LP (RCA Victor LPM-3893) - still in its original shrink! As the US market for mono LP's was dwindling badly by the end of 1967, the mono pressing of this LP proved to be an extremely poor seller, making it one of Elvis' rarest mono pressings (superceded only by 1968's Elvis Gold Records Vol. 4 and Speedway, which are both as rare as hen's teeth in their mono configurations). Add to that the fact that this is a promo copy (with its promo stamp embossed in the upper left-hand corner of its back cover still in its original shrinkwrap after 42 years, and you have a very interesting and collectable piece indeed!
The cover, still being in its original shrink, is near mint with its colorful and vibrant grapics untouched by age. Unfortunately, the bonus photo of Elvis and Priscilla at their wedding is missing, but the LP itself is still safely housed inside and is in excellent condition with a beautiful gloss.
