Up for auction today is Elvis Presley’s debut album on RCA, LPM-1254. This album appears to be the very rare first pressing, with the boxed RCA logo in the upper right corner. This album also came from a smoke/pet free Milwaukee area couple whose small record collection I recently purchased.? I’d like to see where the market values this incredibly clean, rare LP, so I’m running it with No Reserve!

In an attempt to make bidders as comfortable as possible, I've included many photos of the cover and vinyl, as well as YouTube links of both sides of the album playing.? I have NOT cleaned this record and thought I’d leave that up to the new owner. What you see is how I pulled it out of the cover.

I consulted my Dad, a lifelong vinyl collector for help with grading this LP. We both agree that the vinyl is a nice VG+ grade. This record is clean! I like Jerry Osborne’s 10 point scale too and I’d call it an 8 on that scale. There are two minor vinyl flaws that I’ve noted in the pictures below.? One must be a pressing flaw that causes the click you hear in Tutti Frutti.? The other is a surface flaw on side one during Tryin To Get To You that I can’t hear when played.? Any other light marks appear to be from removing the album from the sleeve and are extremely light and don’t affect playback.

I’m much more comfortable grading vinyl than covers, so I’ll let the large photos of the cover do the talking for its condition, but it too is quite nice. Please note the ring wear on the front and the light side binding wear. The white on the back cover is still very bright and the only discoloration appears from ring wear.? Please note the price tag on the back cover as well.
