ELVIS PRESLEY - "ELVIS' CHRISTMAS ALBUM" AUSTRALIAN RCA L10341 LP
I am thinning out my lifetime collection of records, cds, books, vintage clothing, vintage household items etc etc over the coming months (or years!). I have been collecting all things 1950s for nearly 40 years & a lot of it has to go … to make room for new acquisitions! Please check out my “other items” for more great stuff.
A rare find here in the UK, this Australian pressing of Elvis' brilliant 1957 Christmas Album presents well with a striking cover showing some storage wear, small mould marks (may clean off) etc for it's many years but is still presentable -I sold a similar copy just two weeks ago with the same starting price & it sold for £54 - The labels on this early pressing look great but with slight spindle wear, the record has brilliant lustre & looks great & shows only a few fine marks & some unfeelable scratches through Tr 1 & 2 of side 1 & record has a slight warp, that did not affect play on two very different turntables. Side 1, plays without jumps & only minor crackle & some light clicking thru Tr 1 & 2, side 2 plays much the same with occasional clicks & some light crackle. I will add that these Australian pressings, to these ears anyway, sounds punchier than any other pressing I own, be it Japanese, U.S, UK, German etc etc, they just sound better, with the piano on PITV being a stand out.
