ELVIS PRESLEY – ELVIS’ CHRISTMAS ALBUM (LOC-1035) ORIGINAL 1957 ISSUE, COMPLETE with INTACT PHOTO ALBUM
RECORD: VG- with numerous light scratches and scuffs, none of which can be felt with the fingertip. This Indianapolis pressing has not been tested but should play well enough to enjoy. This album is much scarcer than the highly coveted debut album, “Elvis Presley” (LPM-1254) due to the fact that it was available for only one year, 1957-58 and was pressed in far fewer numbers than “Elvis Presley”. For Christmas 1958, the album was renumbered LPM-1951 and was given an entirely redesigned cover with the back side showing photos of Elvis in his Army uniform. This record has matrix numbers ending with 1S/1S.
COVER: VG gate fold cover with the Photo Album inside being fully intact with no torn pages or any writing of any kind. Some foxing is observed, however. Of course, like approximately 85% of these, the spine has cracked and shows some wear (please see all 12 photos of this item!). This is the gold spine lettering like most copies of LOC-1035. Very few are found with silver lettering and in over 40 years of handling Elvis records, I have yet to lay eyes on a single copy with silver lettering. There is an upper seam split of approximately 6 inches in length as well as some additional edge and corner wear. Apparently, someone set their glass of Christmas eggnog on the front of the cover and resulted in some paper lift to the lower left corner section. This album was released in November of 1957 and includes the smash hit, “Blue Christmas”. The original “RCA Victor” inner sleeve is also included. Fully original!
