ELVIS PRESLEY - ELVIS’ GOLDEN RECORDS (LPM-1707) FIRST PRESSING from 1958 with ORIGINAL “thirty-one grueling takes”, non-“RE” COVER!
RECORD: VG+ exhibiting original glossy surfaces! This Rockaway pressing appears to have been adult-owned its entire existence as there are only some very light paper sleeve scuffs showing on both sides. RCA Victor’s “New Orthophonic High Fidelity” remains strong upon test play! The labels are the variety which has the title, “Elvis’ Golden Records” shifted far to the left. There are some light spindle marks on both sides as well as some minor wear about the spindle hole. The matrix numbers end with 3S/5S.
COVER: VG original, non-“RE” cover with the wording, “After thirty-one grueling takes, a satisfactory master was finally made” within the last paragraph of the first column on the back side. There is an 8-inch upper seam split, a 3-1/2-inch lower seam split and a lower central edge break of approximately 3 inches. A length of approximately 3 inches of covering on the spine has chipped away and some further cracking is present. Aside from this, ring wear is quite minimal and there is some expected corner wear. The original “Gimbel’s” price sticker of $2.79 remains fully affixed to the upper right corner on the back. There is no tape, writing or staple holes anywhere on this cover. The original “RCA Victor” inner sleeve is included, though there is a tape repair along the lower edge.

All records are shipped in the correct cardboard folding mailers with the record separated from the cover, then inserted together within a clear polyvinyl sleeve, then sandwiched between two sheets of cardboard filler pads within the mailer to ensure optimum protection.
