Elvis Is Back!

Although they have common recording origins, two of the three singles, "It's Now or Never" and "Are You Lonesome Tonight," were very quirky by the standards of Elvis songs at the time -- the former inspired by Elvis's admiration for Tony Martin's 1949 hit "There's No Tomorrow," while the latter was recorded at the request of Col. Parker as a favor to his wife. They add to the diversity of sounds on this record, which shows a mature Elvis Presley. "Dirty, Dirty Feeling" and "It Feels So Right" showed he could still rock out and challenge authority and propriety, while "Reconsider Baby" and "Like a Baby" offer some of his best blues performances; but "The Thrill of Your Love" (a very gospel-tinged number), "Soldier Boy," "Girl of My Best Friend," and "Girl Next Door Went a' Walking," also displayed the rich, deep vocalizing that would challenge critics' expectations of Elvis Presley playing rhythm guitar throughout. He also comes off better than on any of his other albums since arriving at RCA, as a musician as much as a "star" (he'd always had a lot more to say about running his sessions than the critics who loathed his RCA years indicated).

• We'll combine shipping costs on multiple wins (or store purchases) to save money for the buyer.
• The automatically generated invoice provided by eBay for multiple items doesn't understand combined shipping (it just adds the individual costs together), but we'll issue a proper invoice with the reduced shipping within 16 hours.
• If you have specific shipping instructions, we will be glad to follow them. Let us know upon purchase. We are professionals and pack with extreme care. However, we know some customers may have specific requirements for how their items are to be packed. Please confirm any such packing requests with us before bidding to be sure we can accomodate you. Different packing materials have different weights, so if for example you want a box for an item we might normally ship in a bubble mailer, the shipping cost will probably change.

• Massachusetts residents must pay sales tax because we are a Massachusetts business.
• Import duties, taxes, and charges on international orders are not included in the item price or shipping cost. These charges are the buyer's responsibility. Please check with your country's customs office to determine what these additional costs will be prior to bidding or buying.
