My vinyl record rating guide: vinyl / sleeve
NMINT- outstanding gloss, should have no surface scuffing at all / strong spine with clear, legible print, should be close to perfect
EX outstanding gloss, a few light superficial surface scuffs, should play great with crisp, clear analog sound and the possibility of a little light background noise familiar to vinyl lovers most likely during the dead wax spots between tracks / strong spine with clear, legible print, may have a little light age wear to the cover or the corners
VG+ superb gloss, some light superficial surface scuffing, should play great with crisp, clear analog sound and some light occasional background noise possible / strong spine but the print may be compromised somewhat, some light age wear, but no seam splits or writing on the jacket unless noted in the description
VG nice gloss, multiple light superficial surface scuffs, should still play well but with a little more background noise possible, should still be an enjoyable listening experience and I will usually play rate these and make it known on the listing / cover should be functional but may have some seam splits or writing, I will note all splits or writing in the description
GOOD good gloss, numerous scuffs, should play though but will have background noise, I will play rate these to make sure that the record plays through without skips, I will not list a record that skips, there may be a "click" on a few rotations, but I will note these in the description, I usually only list records that are more collectable at this rating / cover should be functional but will have some seam splits or writing, I will note all splits or writing in the description
FAIR I will only list these records if they are highly collectable and will describe each one individually
NOTE: I have had this mega rare LP for a while and I am finally selling it as a serviceable collection filler until you find a keeper copy. I played both sides and while there is some BG noise, there are no skips or jumps and it plays through and plays better than visual. The cover needs work as the former owner decided to use masking tape to bring the top and bottom seams functional, the tape could be carefully removed with patience and a hair dryer, but I will leave that decision to the future owner. The spine is attached well. Good luck with the auction and read below for more info, thanks, Steve.
ARTIST(s): Elvis Presley
TITLE: Elvis
LABEL: 1956-57 RCA Victor records mono U.S. Army German servicemen release LPM-1382 (Made in Germany stamped on both label sides, K 903 450 stamped on the back of the jacket twice, once with 5/7 and a second time with 8/7. This LP also has Resco on the labels and ws manufactured in Germany by Telefunken.)
COVER: FAIR (age and seam wear, the tape is mentioned above and it looks like somebody tried to draw a mustache on the King on the front of the cover.)
VINYL: FAIR (good gloss, actually plays better than visual with crisp, clean analog sound and tremendous fidelity and some varying degrees of BG noise, the tough old vinyl from back in the day could take a licking and keep on ticking. All opened LPs cleaned on my VPI vacuum cleaner. I listened to both sides of this classic and it plays through pretty well with no skips or jumps.)
all records visually graded, except when noted*
