Very RARE original German first pressing of Elvis Presley`s second album "Elvis" on RCA Records (October 1956).
What can you say, really, about an album such as this one? Elvis Presley`s sophomore effort is filled to the brim with nothing but rock`n`roll classics. Recorded in glorious mono with the best band he ever had (Scotty Moore, DJ Fontana, Bill Black), the sound is still very raw, honest - and rearing to go wherever this exciting new musical style was to leasd to: In short, Elvis never sounded better than this again. Ever.
GRADING:
VG+ COVER. Original folder-type sleeve with a fair amount of wear. Please see the photos for details.
- Original German first edition envelope-style sleeve with opening edge at top.
- Fully laminated cover.
- Significant creasing, front and back, but no tears.
- Small seam split at bottom, center.
- Glued areas in upper portion of the envelope sleeve have come loose, left and right.
EX RECORD, very decent condition for its age.
- Play-graded with near-peerless audio reproduction throughout.
- Both sides show general hairlining, mostly from sleeve removal.
- Superficial crackle in between some tracks and/or quiet passages.
- Side One has two visible, but superficial scratches that are inaudible, as well as a lightly scuffed area (shown in the photo).
- Side Two has two visible scratches (approx. 1 inch long). These too are completely inaudible.
- Original super-solid RCA deep-groove vinyl that weighs in at 188 grams.
- Fully laminated, shiny black RCA Records Labels with no visible spindle wear at all!
- The matrix stamps in the run-off grooves read "LP-G2-WP-7207-X" and "LP-G2-WP-7208-X".
- Mothers/Stampers: "- / D" on Side One and "- / D" on Side Two.
- This issue of "Elvis" is fully certified to be an original, very first German MONO pressing, issued in October 1956.
