Description

ELVIS PRESLEY FRANKIE AND JOHNNY (LSP-3553) SCARCER HOLLYWOOD PRESSING with MEGA RARE THEATRE PHOTO INCLUDED NOT THE COMMON, STANDARD BONUS PHOTO! READ ON…

RECORD: VG++ (EXC) with only light evidence of having been played. This Hollywood pressing was play-tested and it retains full high fidelity with no skips or annoying “ticks”. A small amount of extremely light paper sleeve scuffs are seen under a bright light. The labels are the “Expanded Credits” variety as mentioned in Jerry Osborne’s “Presleyana VIII” (2017). These labels were produced exclusively at the Hollywood pressing plant and command a premium over the Rockaway and Indianapolis issues. This Original Soundtrack recording was released in April of 1966 and includes the hit single, “Frankie and Johnny / Please Don’t Stop Loving Me”.

COVER: VG++ (EXC) with no seam splits, tape, writing or staple holes. Ring wear is present, though quite light on both sides. The lower edge of the back slick shows a couple of short tears due to insufficient adhesive in that area. A very clean, presentable cover! The original “ELVIS’ Great LP Catalog” (40B) is included.

SPECIAL THEATRE BONUS PHOTO: VG+ and conservatively graded. This is not the standard and much more common Bonus Photo that was included with this particular album! I normally don’t like to use the term “Mega Rare” as we have all seen that thrown around quite loosely on certain items that often do not deserve that verbiage. However, with this item, I feel that it is warranted. After discussing this special photo (as seen in a small inset on page 378 of “Presleyana VIII”) with another expert in the field, he informed me that these photos were never included with the albums nor available at record stores upon the purchase of the album. They were rather used in select theatres throughout the country in display cases to promote the film, “Frankie and Johnny”. Therefore, these were printed in limited numbers and rarely appear at auction. This photo does show some minor evidence of handling, including an upper right corner bend. Unfortunately, there is also a light stain showing on the June Kelly portrait side (please see all photos). However, this stain is not transferred through to the more “important” side which shows the promotion of the film. There are no tears, tape remnants or pin holes present.

GOOD LUCK!

I COMBINE SHIPPING! $4.00 for the first LP, then 50 cents for each additional. Should you win more than one record in my auctions, PLEASE do not pay until you receive an updated invoice from me reflecting Combined Shipping! Otherwise, I will have to refund you the difference for over-paid shipping. International Shipping is available to select countries. Please do not ask me to check “Gift” instead of “Merchandise” or to declare a low value on the Customs Form! This would be considered Mail Fraud. I ship all records packaged with the best of care to ensure that they arrive to your doorstep in the same condition as when they leave my hands.

ALL of my records are U.S. pressings unless otherwise stated.

Payment is expected within 5 (Five) days from close of auction via PAY PAL ONLY – NO EXCEPTIONS, PLEASE. I normally ship within three business days from close of auction, but please allow a little extra time in the event of a holiday.

Returns are accepted if you are not completely satisfied with your item. I strongly believe that my grading of records is spot-on, but we’re all human and something may occasionally be missed upon inspection. I will do my best to ensure customer satisfaction.

2022 marks 44 years of experience for me in this wonderful hobby. I specialize in Elvis Presley because he is "The King".
