ELVIS PRESLEY
“G.I. BLUES”
MEGARARE reissue MONO press released in Chile in 1978 by RCA Victor Records, made and distributed by Industria De Radio Y Televisión S.A. (IRT Records), catalog number LPM-2256, with machine etched matrix numbers L8 0P0062-1 II I in Side A and L2 PP3658-1S I B4 in Side B, with traditional black/silver RCA Victor Records labels, with colored “dog”. Yes, Sirs, ANOTHER FIND from Chile!!!
“G.I. BLUES” was originally released in 1960 and the same year we got the album released in Chile, but this isn’t a copy of the original Chilean issue or some of the many 60’s reissues, this is a copy of the 1978 reissue, and like usual in that period, we got it with a flipback cover made of a single piece of thin cardboard folded in the middle, with back cover pasted on the flips of front cover and a very thin spine with the text “G.I. BLUES – ELVIS PRESLEY LPM-2256”. Front and back covers keep strictly the original US artwork with all the text written in English only, the only difference is that in Chile the picture used for this MONO issue is the same picture used in USA for the STEREO press. In labels the album title and tracklist are also written in English only, with publishing credits for each song, BMI for “Blue Suede Shoes” and “Doin’ The Best I Can” and ASCAP for all the other songs. So, this is ANOTHER GREAT FIND from Chile for all Elvis lovers, fans and collectors, a Chilean copy of MONO “G.I. Blues” of 1978, a reissue almost never seen!!! And what a great condition!!! WOW!!!
The cover was already described and it’s in great EX or EX+ condition, clean and clear, complete, with some wear in edges, more evident in corners, very light ring marks, some creases and faint age browning in back cover, but with all edges solid with no seam splits at all. The record is in great EX or EX+ condition both sides, glossy and clean, with only some scuffs and very light hairlines, hard to see at first sight, which don’t affect play at all. Labels on both sides are in EX+ or NM- condition, absolutely clean and clear, with only some spindle hole wear. The sound is in absolute EX+ or NM- condition both sides, loud, clear and clean, virtually no background noise (surface noise is normal in records from Chile), with only very soft occasional crackles here and there, hard to hear if you are not looking for them, which of course don’t cause any distraction from the great sound this album keeps from the beginning to the end. Overall, a record with a nice cover, glossy record, almost immaculate labels and superb sound quality after almost 40 years, which won’t disappoint anyone!!! Yes, Sirs, a MEGARARE PRESS of a classic album by Elvis Presley, another GREAT FIND FROM CHILE AGAIN in a great condition!!! Click on the pictures to enlarge and see the labels and cover in detail. WOW!!!

_________________________________________________________
We don’t use the generic “VG” most of South American sellers use to hide poor quality conditions or “NM” or “Mint” for records which aren’t even clean and sound less than a normal “VG” in professional standards. We use the Record Collector’s Grading System with a little modification: we don’t use MINT grade but for Sealed records and we can use a + or – to show a most professional accurate description.
MINT (M): I only use this grade for Sealed records.
NEAR MINT (NM): The record itself is in like new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality (only some very very very light hairlines caused for the record rubbing the sleeve). The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in like perfect condition.
EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality, maybe some surface marks which doesn’t affect play. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.
FAIR (F): The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.
POOR (P): The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.
BAD (B): The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.

FEEDBACK
We don’t have anything to hide and we know the buyers expect to receive feedback after to pay for the items they win. Most of sellers say to give feedback when buyers leave feedback first. But we know that’s not fair for buyers. So, we leave feedback immediately after to receive the payment, because we understand that’s the part that buyers must receive feedback for. And we expect to receive a positive feedback from buyers who receive the records immediately after they have got the records.
