HOUND DOG (RCA 1095)

SINGLE-SIDED GREEN LABEL DEMO

Now folks, this is one genuinely RARE piece of Elvis memorabilia: a single sided green label demo. It dates back to October 1958 and was pressed by The Decca Record Company for promotional purposes in the UK.

No-one knows exactly how many of these records would have been pressed but informed sources say it was probably less than 200 copies. And of course these were never intended for public consumption - and most fans / buyers would have had no idea about their existence - and knew little about them until relatively recently.

So, now's your chance to own one of these rarely seen single sided demos - and one that hardly ever turns up for sale. Of course, all of the green label demos are rightly considered to be hard to find but this one is is especially difficult to locate - as collectors will know only too well. 

As you can see from the picture, the catalogue number has been over-stamped and the running time added in pen by someone at the factory, as was the practice at the time. The two other marks evident have obviously been added later but don't really detract from the collectability of the record in my view.

Despite these small marks though the label is in EXCELLENT condition as is the vinyl.
