The condition of the vinyl (both sides) is truly NEAR MINT : the vinyl has retained virtually all of it's original sheen and is an absolute gleamer! No scratches or scuffs, no warping, no dents or odd little nicks...simply outstanding! If you study the vinyl under a bright light and get up really close (as I have) you can detect some faint hairlines, but even these are insignificant. Considering that this is a 58 year old piece of vinyl the condition is remarkable...I just can't imagine there to be a better copy out there.
The quality of the audio is SUPERB : No nicks or clicks, no distortion even on the higher notes, just the merest hint of a split second piece of static on a very few occasions but nothing that you wouldn't detect from a brand new piece of vinyl being played for the first time. Just great!
As the photos testify, the labels are EXCELLENT with all print totally legible and the original colouring fully intact. There are a couple of very small, and very, very light spindle traces adjacent to the centre hole but again these are only detectable under a bright light and close-up...if I stated that there were no spindle traces at all you would probably still believe me even after you've bought the record and inspected it yourself!!
Comes in original HMW outer sleeve with no splits, fully functional, but just a little creasing towards the edges. 
I suspect that there are very few copies of this classic single still circulating which are in even half as good a condition as this...almost perfect! This really is one for the Elvis purist...a true archive copy that you will never wish to replace. Truly, a piece of Elvis and rock 'n roll history. Play it once, frame it, be the envy of your friends and watch your investment grow!

My record grading adheres to the “Record Collector” guide, which has established a set of standards for the condition of second-hand records. These indicate the amount of wear and tear the disc, sleeve, and other items (such as lyric inserts) have been subject to and the condition that they are in at present. The seven standard condition categories, and descriptions of what each one means, are listed below:

Mint

The records itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items, such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.

Excellent

The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and /or creasing.

Very Good

The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

Good

The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.

Fair

The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents are torn, stained and/or defaced

Poor

The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents are badly damaged or partly missing.

Bad

The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler
