Description

Second pressing, 1977. RCA's original plan for Moody Blue was for the first pressing to be entirely in blue vinyl, and subsequent pressings in black. In early August, RCA began the second pressing on black vinyl. On August 15th Elvis passed away, and RCA decided the switch from blue to black vinyl might be misunderstood. They stopped pressing black vinyl, and went back to blue. The generally accepted "guesstimate" is that around 25,000 black vinyl records were pressed. How many may have been recalled/recycled/destroyed is not apparent. All bear the catalog number AFL1-2428. Black vinyl copies bearing any other catalog number are not from this pressing. Also, all Canadian pressings of Moody Blue were on black vinyl and should not be confused with this pressing.
One of those rare occasions where the second pressing is actually more desirable than the first!
