as an extremely limited edition exact replica / reproduction of the
very first recordings that Elvis ever made. 
this copy is in Mint Condition and comes in 
a plain yellow generic paper sleeve. the record is 
pressed at 78rpm onto vinyl (more stable and 
longer lasting than the original acetate!).

the story behind this record is fascinating, and history.
Elvis Presley wanted to make a record for his mother. this sort of
thing wasn't uncommon back in the 1940s and '50s, but the records
were made on thin acetate discs, which weren't made to last or
to be sold commercially, as they would wear out quickly. recently the 
original 78rpm 10-Inch record of an 18 year old Elvis recording 
"My Happiness" and "There's Where Your Heartaches Begin" was 
auctioned off - only one copy exists. the buyer for $300,000 was the 
one and only Jack White. he had the recordings professional transferred
and cooked up an exact replica to be released as a limited edition 
pressing for Record Store Day 2015 on his Third Man Records label.
the recordings are primitive and has typical 78rpm surface noise 
but beyond that, they're haunting and beautiful. 

these songs were recorded in 1953 by a completely 
unknown Elvis at the Memphis Recording Service at 
Sun Studios in Memphis, Tennessee. they recorded the 
young Elvis direct to disc, for which EP paid $4.00
for the service / record. the titles were hand typed onto 
the backs of unused Sun labels for a record by the Prisonaires
and besides wanting to make a record for his mother, 
Elvis was also hoping to get noticed by Sam Phillips
which in the end worked - and the 
rest is history.
