Description
The December 2006 issue of Record Collector magazine includes this LP in its "250 Rarest Records" list, priced at £700 for mint copies.
The LP for sale here is not in mint condition. The LP is an original fifties issue. There are a few light surface marks on both sides of the LP - finger marks and one or two small scratches are evident. Side two of the LP does have, however, a noticeable scratch mark across the entire side (See photo). Surprisingly, although a 'click' can be heard - most noticeably on track 2: "Old Shep" and at the beginning of the final track: "How Do You Think I Feel", the scratch looks worse than it is: the LP plays well and the scratch does not cause the stylus to 'jump' or 'stick' - nor does it conspicuously detract from the other four tracks on side 2. Therefore, using Record Collector magazine's grading system as a guide, it would be reasonable to describe the LP as in "Good" condition.
The sleeve has a slight tear at the front top right hand corner (See photo). The front picture has a couple of marks on Elvis' face (See photo). There are some scuff marks on the sleeve's spine which has taken away some of the print, so that it reads: "Elvis Pr...." (See photo).
The maroon HMV label displays a few spindle marks.
