Elvis Presley was one of the world's biggest and most popular entertainers for many years. The "King" has sold over a HALF BILLION records worldwide! He began in the 1950s, and never looked back until his passing in 1977, FORTY FIVE years ago this year. He left us an incredible legacy of great music, and influenced countless others through the years! For there will only ever be ONE Elvis...the King of Rock and Roll!
Many picture disc LPs of Elvis were released through the years. One example of that type of picture disc release, from 1978, is titled 'Elvis A Legendary Performer Volume 3'. It comes in a special die-cut sleeve, and is STILL SEALED, and NEVER OPENED or PLAYED! I've added a pic of the B side, as you can't see it since it's still sealed, but rest assured, that's a stock photo. This copy has never been opened!
And to commemorate the early days of Elvis, and the 'Louisiana Hayride' program of which he was a part of in 1954, on the radio program, and then again in 1955, on the television program. In 2006, two of the three members of the Stray Cats, (Slim Jim Phantom and Lee Rocker), along with Danny B. Harvey, remixed six vintage Elvis songs for a 10" picture disc release! Now, the word remix here does NOT make this a bunch of wild, techno versions of a few of Elvis' early hits. No, in this case, those guys, (who know a thing or two about rockabilly music), cleaned up these songs from the 1950. Brought them up-to-date, if you will, on the sound!
As mentioned, the 'Legendary Performer Volume 3' pic disc is new, and still sealed. The 10'' pic disc, titled 'Good Rockin' Tonight', is in fantastic condition, and is still all shiny and clean! I've never played it, but I'm sure it sounds great. Most modern day pic discs do! This comes in its original PVC jacket, with hype sticker. Vinyl itself is still all shiny and clean! Jacket looks good, with only a corner bent, and folded over.
