A great opportunity to buy a copy of a WHITE - LABELLED PROMOTIONAL copy VINYL 7 inch EP from the 50's by Elvis Presley and other artists called " Perfect For Parties - Highlight Album "..
This is a promotional sampler released by RCA Victor as a Record Prevue (Preview) of forthcoming attractions on their label in 1956.
This is possibly a unique issue as they use the voice of Elvis to introduce each of the tracks.
This is a U.S.A. issue released in 1956 on the RCA Victor label (SPA-7-37), having a total of 6 tracks:-
Elvis Presley - Love Me
Tony Cabot and his Orchestra - Anchors Away
Tito Puente and his Orchestra - That's A Puente
Tony Scott and his Orchestra - Rock Me But Don't Roll Me
The Three Suns - Happy Face Baby
Dave Pell Octet - Prom To Prom.
Visually the vinyl is in a lovely clean NEAR - MINT condition. I always grade records under a strong light and there is only the odd surface mark to indicate it has ever been played. It plays fine all the way through and sounds great.
The labels are clean and free from any writing or major defects.
The matrix number is G2NH - 7231 on both sides.
The picture cover is an un-laminated thick card sleeve in EXCELLENT condition. It has obviously been well protected all these years and has no faults or signs of wear to report. If I can find any blemish at all, it is there is just the hint of a small crease in the bottom left hand corner.The back cover highlights the albums that each of the 6 artists tracks are featured on and gives examples of other records in their catalogue. There is also a complete list of Elvis's RCA Victor recordings as of that date and he is quoted as saying, "I'm crazy about these albums...they're really Perfect for Parties".
In conclusion, an OUTSTANDING RARITY for avid Elvis Presley fans and collectors interested in obtaining a most unusual item, with his picture on the cover and his voice, from 1956, introducing the other 5 various acts.
