Description
As 16th August is the 45th anniversary of the untimely death of Elvis, I thought I'd give someone else the opportunity to give this record a good home.
It's the very rare RCA PRESENTATION ALBUM pressed in Washington, UK, in May 1970 to commemorate the official opening of the new RCA pressing plant there. According to legend, only 200 were pressed as gifts to local 'dignitaries', senior Management etc. I actually purchased this in Washington, just a few hundred yards from the site of the now-defunct pressing plant.
Side 1 consists of Classical Music selections from RCA's 'Red Seal' catalogue.
Side 2 is Pop Music from the standard RCA orange label catalogue and includes Elvis and others. The Elvis track is In The Ghetto. Other artistes include Nilsson, Jim Reeves, and, err...The Archies. If you're a fan of The Archies though, please feel free to bid. I'd like to see the Elvis and Archies' fans battling it out for this rarity.
Vinyl Condition: Excellent on both sides; hasn't had much play or handling.
Sleeve Condition
The outside of the sleeve has wear and creasing on the corners, edges, and spine, but the type of finish on the sleeve means it is extremely prone to wear. It's 52 years old now; some wear is reasonably to be expected.
The inside of the sleeve contains a full-colour, detailed booklet with photos, transparencies etc; condition is excellent. It's completely intact and has not separated from the sleeve.
Postage and Packaging
Item will be securely and properly packaged at no cost to the buyer. Postage is at the exact P.O. price; no postage rip-offs from me. Ever!
I know how how to pagage records. Please check my feedback.
I post internationally; please ask for a price.
R.I.P. Elvis!
