ORIGINAL 1956 RARE UK 1st pressing LP on the HMV label

Matrix Numbers : Side 1 2XAV 255 - 1N, stamper GM; Side 2 2XAV 256 - 1N, stamper GT Rarer XT Tax Code Embossed near the spindle

This is the third copy I've seen and handled in twenty years, and the best I've seen. Usually the covers on this release are very weak and flimsy and are often destroyed, with parts missing, or at the very least, badly torn. However this copy is all complete with NO tearing. It does have some condition issues, nothing too major.
It's a nice, clean copy with slight laminate lift and loss, slight handling wear at the opening flap, a couple of creases at the spine and only minimal edge wear at the top and bottom; really good.
The vinyl itself does have several light marks when held and studied in daylight, none of which seem to affect playback emitting only the odd pop or crackle during the recording's quieter parts. Playback is superb. The record could probably do with a clean. A scratch was audible when played on a SONY 1973 Quadraphonic system, (side one, track two) and when played on a 1980's Phillips played straight through so best audio is probably dependent on the counterweight of the buyer's setup.
