ELVIS PRESLEY ROCK N ROLL ORIGINAL RARE 1956 UK HMV VINYL LP CLP 1093.
First Press
Bought by myself back in 1996 from a record dealer and been kept in a glass frame for all this time.
No denying the sleeve is in poor condition - see pics
Inner sleeve (not sure if original or not) slight wear and a very small tear on one of the corners. Reason for the quality of the vinyl probably down to being kept in the sleeve.
To grade the vinyl I used the Goldmine Standard. I have done my best to be as open and honest as possible about each song.
I have listened to the vinyl twice just now before listing. The first time was specifically listen out for surface noise / skips / repeats. The second time was for pure enjoyment as it sounds so different to when listening on CD.
There was NO skipping / repeating at all. Vinyl has minimal scratches and in great condition.
I've rated each song as follows.

Side 1

Blue suede shoes – VG+ (Surface noise was near non existent)

I got a woman – VG (very slight surface noise in a some small sections of song two but does not overpower the music at all and onlynoticed it because rating the LP)

Counting on you – VG as above

I’m right she’s left – VG as above

That’s alright mama – VG+

Money Honey - VG

Side 2

Mystery Train – VG+

I’m gonna sit right down and cry - VG

Tryin’ to get over you – G (slightly more surface noise forfirst half of the song than anywhere else but still sounds great in my opinion. Might be harsh giving it just a G as othersmight think it’s VG)

One sided love affair – as above

Lawdy, Miss Clawdy - VG

Shake, Rattle and Roll – VG+

When I listened to the album the second time to just enjoy hisvoice and music again and not listen out for any imperfections those surfacenoises seemed to almost disappear. Obviously still there if you focus on them, but if you focus on the music in my opinion it is absolute minimal. Lovely to hear it again and sounds so different than on cd’s.

Reason for value is the playing condition of the vinyl.
