Here's a really clean playing copy of his classic and highly influential first LP...
The sleeve is tatty but the disc plays really well!..
The matrix numbers are 1N on each side..It's a first pressing..
The mothers and stampers are:..2GP and 4GH..
Issued by HMV on 23rd March 1956..UK pressing in a fully laminated sleeve..
Play grade...EX minus..No real problems with the play of this one as the sound is clean and undistorted..There is one pop on track 3 on side one..Tracks 2 and 3 on side 2 are a little noisey but there are no real loud or constant clicks or pops..
I have done the sound clip from side 2 as that is the noisiest section of the record..
No music software has been used to alter the sound quality..What you hear is how good it plays!...(I would'nt know how to use such software anyway!).
Visual grade:..To the naked eye,the disc looks EX minus (maybe a bit less)..The first side has a couple of light marks,the B side has slightly more,but they are limited to tracks 2 and 3....There are NO nasty scratches or scuffs..Strong light reveals paper scuffs and light hairlines..Nothing serious or likely to affect play...The disc still has a reasonable sheen as well.
The disc plays flat on the deck with no edge warps..
The labels:...Clean and undamaged,even the gilt text is untarnished....There is light spindle wear....
The sleeve..This sleeve is SO flimsy..I don't think that I have ever seen one in my 45 years of record gathering that could be graded better than VG minus!..
This sleeve is VERY tatty..
Here are the defects..
Heavy wear to the top and opening edges.
The opening edge has a marked upward curl and small tears.
Small seam splits along the top edge..
Rubbing to the bottom edge..
Corner wear..
The back has a very bad stain at the top..
Having said that,there is no scribble or sellotape and most of the text on the spine is legible.
The original inner sleeve has bad staining as well..( The record is now in a nice clean new one,but I will send the original inner sleeve as well).
