Description
ELVIS PRESLEY – ROUSTABOUT (LSP-2999) RARE “SILVER TOP” FIRST PRESSING FROM THE HOLLYWOOD PRESSING PLANT!
RECORD: VG with numerous, light scuffs and non-feelable scratches. The record played VG+ with only some minor surface noise detected, despite the surface scuffs. This SUPER RARE Hollywood pressing was test-played in its entirety, and it retains full high fidelity with no skips, repeats or annoying “pops”! The labels show some minor wear as well as some light spindle marks on each side. After 44 years of collecting Elvis Presley records, I can attest that Hollywood was the exclusive pressing plant for these Silver Top “Roustabout” albums in 1964. As confusing as it may seem, the White Top copies are First Pressings only if they hail from the Indianapolis or Rockaway pressing plants. White Top copies from Hollywood are actually Second Pressings! A very small amount of “Roustabout” albums were pressed in Hollywood with the older “Silver Top” designed label and the STEREO copies are more elusive than the MONO copies. This Original Soundtrack Recording, arguably the second best of all of Elvis’ soundtrack albums, was released in October of 1964. The matrix numbers on this record end with 1S/1S.
COVER: VG+ with upper and lower seam splits of 4 inches each. Some light ring wear and corner wear is also observed. There is no tape, writing, staple holes or unwanted stickers anywhere on this cover. The original “ELVIS’ Great LP Catalog” (40A) is included.
GOOD LUCK!
