This is an ORIGINAL VERY FIRST and EARLIEST ENGLISH pressing of Elvis Presley`s MASTERPIECE third LP entitled THE BEST OF ELVIS  on the HMV EMI record label.  The man that stated it all. These original fully laminated beautiful half moon flip back sleeves,  were typical of the 50`s and the craftsmanship of making these great sleeves is now gone forever. To me this is one of the many things that makes record collecting a really great thing. To find one is this condition is a true collectors dream. This 60 year old sleeve is a cracker. All of Elvis Presley`s  first 3 albums 1 and 2 released in 56 and this number 3 a year later were very delicately made and laminated in really light lamination .Wich is why most of them are shot to pieces. In the 60`s and 70`s the record industry got wise to this so toughened up the laminate to preserve the life of the sleeve thus creating a better product.I have been collecting records seriously since 1978 and I have never  seen this particular sleeve in condition that comes anything close to this. You would be extremley hard  pushed to find a better sleeve. There are no signs of ring ware to the front of the sleeve to the naked eye. Only when you tilt the sleeve in the light you can see the faintest tiny amount of ring ware. Both the front and  the back of this great 10 inch LP sleeve are truly IMMACULATE. The spine is in EXCELLENT condition and all spinal writings can be read as clearly as the day this gem was made.For some reason probably a mistake this LP has 2 original poly lined inner sleeves. Both of these inners are in EXCELLENTcondition and both bare the original "MADE IN ENGLAND" and "TAKE GOOD CARE OF YOUR RECORDS" and the "GRAMOPHONE NEEDLE WARNINGS" stating a damaged needle can damage your records warnings. That is a true sign of the times. Remember back in 1957 this was the top technology of the day. And as my dad told me back then hardly anyone could afford an LP so he and his friend would buy LP`s between them ! Double click the pictures and have a look at those beautiful record labels with that classic shot of the dog looking down the gramophone horn. Beautiful gold typeset on the rouge background. Both sides show only 2 or 3 light spindle marks, beautiful. Look closely to the spindle hole on side 2 you will notice the embossed X T tax code indicating the very earliest UK pressing. Both sides AMAZINGLY after 60 years show an incredible deep gloss luster indicating a real lack of play or extremley careful play.When tilted in the light this old collectors  beauty shimmers like mirror. To the naked eye in normal light it is difficult to fault this gorgeous record.  Only when tilted under a very bright light you see the lightest hairline trails. None of which intrude on the music.  This golden oldie by the KING plays end to end with NOTHING to spoil any of this great music.  The playback is loud, deep, crystal clear and warm ,something that the CD industry tried to steer all vinyl lovers away from. Who were they trying to kid ??? ALL you Elvis fans that own an inferior copy to this one right here,  here is your chance to upgrade. Or all you serious record collectors who like me collected the King simply because  we collect Bowie,the Stones, The Beatles, Led Zep, The Who, The Kinks, The Stooges, Bolan, The Pistols, well this guy started it all so I collected him as well !! You would be very hard pressed to find a better copy than this one right here !! CONDITION ! CONDITION ! CONDITION ! It is this rare items condition that makes this opportunity so rare ! And the condition of this gem is well worth your best bid. Don`t let it pass you buy.
