Description
"Touch Of Gold, Vol. 3" EPA 5141 1959 U.S. RCA EP VG-/VG+
"All Shook Up"/"Don't Ask Me Why"/"Too Much"/"Blue Moon Of Kentucky" US (RCA) EPA 5141
This "Gold Standard Series" EP of previously released material came out while Elvis was in the Army in 1959. This & the other 2 "Touch Of Gold" EPs were part of Colonel Parker's campaign to keep Elvis' name alive while he was overseas. It contains 4 great songs from the back catalog- "Don't Ask Me Why" from "King Creole", the B-side of the debut Sun single from 1954 "Blue Moon Of Kentucky", "Too Much" which was #1 for 3 weeks in 1957 & "All Shook Up" which stayed at #1 for an incredible 9 weeks later in the year. Elvis looks great on the front cover in the famous solid gold suit designed by Nudie. Overall the sleeve shows ring wear on the front & back, has a split seam across the entire top edge & a 2" split seam on the bottom right & has slight tape residue along the top & bottom seams. The record has the original 50s black RCA "dog on top" labels & is in nice shape with no scratches or scuffs on side 1 but has 2 negligible needle marks on side 2 which do not affect play.
Overall VG-/VG+ condition.
