Pressing Only for U.S. Military Stationed in Germany
LABEL:  RCA  47-7777  GERMANY  S5 LABEL - The Elvis Record Pressings for the US Military in Germany had "Nipper" Dog Labels, except for 47-7777 the only one with the RCA "Bolt" Label SONGS:  ELVIS  "IT'S NOW OR NEVER" & "A MESS OF BLUES" YEAR:  1960 DEAD WAX:   45-L2WW-0100-XU  S-II  MANUFACTURED IN GERMANY  45-L2WW-0085-X  S-II  MANUFACTURED IN GERMANY

Great authentic, very rare 1960 German pressing of Elvis Presley's "A Mess Of Blues" and "It's Now Or Never" #47-7777, made exclusively for the U.S. military stationed in Germany.  This record was not issued to the civilian public in Germany, it was sold only on the U.S. military bases in Germany.  There were a handful of Elvis records that were pressed in Germany for the U.S. military stationed there.  The label on the U.S. military German pressings had the RCA "Nipper" dog looking into the phonograph, except for 47-7777 which is the only German U.S. military pressing known to be sold with the RCA "Bolt" label.  The German U.S. military pressings were engraved in the "dead wax" area with, "Manufactured In Germany".  On both sides of this record in the dead wax area above the RCA "Bolt" is engraved "Manufactured In Germany".  There's an excellent website,  www.verzameling.page.tl/ARMY-label.htm  that has great information about this record and many other Elvis records, including the rare military issues.  This hard-to-find Elvis record is in VERY GOOD vintage pre-owned used condition; no cracks or breaks to the "vinyl", the paper label is still attached to both sides with minor age scuffing. The record has been played in the past and the "vinyl" does have use/age wear including surface scratches and scuffs, and there's no sleeve.  The record plays all the way through on both sides without skips.

VINYL CONDITION:  VG (VERY GOOD)  Some visible surface wear, with light scratches and scuffs. No skips.

LABEL CONDITION: VG+ (VERY GOOD PLUS) Minor shelf wear.

Record Grading Guide:

SS
 (STILL SEALED)

Sealed at factory and never opened. Disc is assumed to be undamaged and mint, but this cannot be proven until the album is actually opened and the disc examined.

M
 (MINT)

Perfection, no flaws, defects, marks or otherwise indications of being handled or played. Any scuffs, hairline scratches or other marks disqualify discs from this category. I do not use this grade, as even the act of inserting the disc or removing it from the paper sleeve may cause scuffmarks on the vinyl.

NM or M-
 (NEAR MINT or  MINT MINUS)

This is highest grade that I will assign to opened, handled records. The vinyl is virtually flawless, bright and shiny. A very minor, barely visible scuff or two may be permitted, but no scratches. The disc should play with no audible noise. The label is bright, clean and unmarked.

NM-            (NEAR MINT  MINUS)

Disc plays near perfectly, but may have minor paper scuffs. There can possibly be a hairline scratch or two with very light pop or crackle. Vinyl is bright; label is clean and may show only very light marks.

VG+
 (VERY GOOD  PLUS)

Some visible surface wear, very minor scratches and scuffs, but minimal impact, possibly very minor sound quality loss. Vinyl will still have good luster; labels may have minor imperfections (small labels or initials, etc.) but otherwise reasonable & clean.

VG
 (VERY GOOD)

Vinyl will have noticeable scratches or scuffs that cause minor surface noise, but do not overpower the music. There will be no skips. Vinyl may appear somewhat dull and grayish. Labels may have small tears, tape marks, larger writing, etc. but still easily legible. There may be wear or deformation of the spindle hole.

G
 (GOOD)

Well-played, dull, grayish vinyl with deeper scratches and wear causing distracting surface noise (hisses, pops, cracks and other nasties). The record will still play through without any skips. Labels may be significantly defaced or damaged.

F
 (FAIR)

Unless the record is particularly rare, I would not try to sell a record in this condition. There will be major noise, surface damage, deep scratches, and skips. Attempting to listen to these discs will be painful. These discs are basically trash unless a collector desires one to fill a space in a collection until a better one comes along.
