For this promo issue, side one is "banded for airplay" and visually different than the standard 'retail' pressings, in that the individual sections of Tarkus (Eruption, Stones of Years, Iconoclast, Mass, Manticore, Battlefield, Aquatarkus) have been separated from each other visually for DJs. Yet, there is no music interruption or fade-in/fade-out between them (no music sectioning, only visual gaps).
Side one runout shows a date one day after the one shown on non-promo Cotillion pressings: 5-27-71 instead of 5-26-71. On Side Two, promo and non-promo versions show the same date, 5-26-71.
