Description

It's hard to understand today that this powerful, groundbreaking symphony was only performed ONCE in Rachmaninov's lifetime, the resulting critics by the "traditionalist" like Glazunov and Cui almost ruined Rachminov's compositional career and nearly caused his mental breakdown! Fortunately we have marvelous performance and recording like Previn's to do justice to it.
