Description
Super copy of the rare EMI/HMV UK stereo 2 LP set, ASD 317 and 318, Liszt's A Faust Symphony/Symphonic Poem: Orpheus, Sir Thomas Beecham conducting the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. Original gold/cream label, 2YEA 218-3/219-3 and 2YEA 220-4/221-16 matrix numbers.
Front-laminated flipback sleeves are not n super condition, a little light edge and corner wear, very minor, a little light ringwear and some browning to the back of Record 1 sleeve. Record 2 sleeve has a little printing error area next to the spine, under the laminate. These are all minor faults on super sleeves, both of which have fantastic, glossy laminate and wonderful colour and structure. Both sleeves grade at least EX.
Vinyl is all extremely clean and shiny, and flat, with no warp, a very well looked after example, with, on record 2, some light manufacturing pattern transfer from the original plastic-lined Emitex sleeve, not affecting superb audio. Record 1 has one noticeable 1 inch line near the start of side 1, and this does cause some regular light clicks, mostly noticeable towards the end of the mark, but these are not too obtrusive. Record 1, side 1, also exhibits some light surface crackle, and the occasional light click, but on the other sides, this dissipates quickly after the start of each side. These minor faults don't detract from the very strong stereo audio, and this is, overall, an extremely nice original copy. Record 1 grades EX, Record 2 grades EX to EX+.
