Description
This is an excellent pressing of the complete 2 lp set of Goldberg Variations played by legendary pianist Rosalyn Tureck. Glenn Gould claimed that she was his "only " influence.
EMI J ALP 1549 on thick vinyl in gatefold cover with notes by Rosalyn Tureck in the middle.
Both records and cover made in South Africa. Thus an extremely rare and high quality pressing. The pressings are identical in every respect to the English ALP 1549, with identical cover art on the front ( a sculpture by Epstein of the soloist ), save for the fact that the issue is in a convenient single gatefold cover.
The records themselves are very good to excellent. No skips, jumps, recurring pops. Minor surface noise at times.
The gatefold cover is bumped on the two corners on the spine but has no splits or tears. Very solid.
A wonderful solid addition to any fine collection.
This is a heavy set at over 600 grammes when posted.
