Description
Emile Jaques-Dalcroze ( July 6, 1865 in Vienna – died July 1, 1950 in Geneva ) was a music pedagogue and composer. Studied in Paris with Lavignac, later in Vienna with Anton Bruckner, return to Paris with Léo Delibes and Gabriel Fauré. Fondation oft he Institut Jacques-Dalcroze in 1915 at Geneva, Doctor honoris causa from the Universities Chicago (1937), in Lausanne (1945), in Clermond-Ferrand and Geneva (1948).
