EMMANUEL BOOZ 'Le Jour Où Les Vaches... ' LP (France, Replica Records, Catalogue #RPC027) Brand new/unplayed copy of limited year 2017 Replica Records label LP edition of 1974 Symphonic Prog Rock album by French singer-poet Emmanuel Booz. Originally released  in France in 1974 on the Atlantic Records label.  

(NOTE: LIMITED VINYL EDITION!)

A reissue of the first album by this French iconoclast poet, recorded in 1974 with William Sheller's string arrangements. This highly symphonic and dystopian rock album should overjoy fans of Gerard Manset or Genesis. By having singer extraordinaire William Sheller not only playing piano, but orchestrating the album, EB strikes gold, and adds a great choir section for a memorable (but unfortunately sole) intervention. Starting with a spoken monologue by Booz, the short second track will give an idea for what is going to come with its Zeuhl-ish pounding bass,the dark choirs and the orchestral strings.From this point on begins a haunting journey into Emmanuel Booz'es unique world,a combination of melodramatic theatrical rock with Classical Music and complex Zeuhl.

"This is one of the best known French rock poets, meaning you'll need a good understanding of the language to really appreciate his albums. His style is vaguely similar to Pete Brown of Daevid Allen, distinguished by emotional verbal rantings. His first album was centered around a 20-minute French version (lyrics by Boris Bergman) of Arlo Guthrie's composition "Alice's Restaurant", supervised by Guthrie himself. This album has period charm to a certain degree, although Booz's style developed enormously on subsequent efforts. Le Jour Où Les Vaches... was much stronger musically with some illustrious orchestral arrangements by William Sheller. The overall feeling is frequently disturbing and unsettled.
