*** Both the front and back images of this rare UK pressing 7" vinyl single showing A & B side labels along with the original unique UK picture sleeve can be seen above and further down below.

The item available here is a VG+ CONDITION original and now rare UK PRESSING 7" VINYL SINGLE of the ENGLISH VERSION of the 1978 Finnish Eurovision entry from SEIJA SIMOLA and "GIVE LOVE A CHANCE".  The B-side features the English language version of another song from Seija Simola, "LITTLE SMILE" (originally "PIENI HYMY" which appears on the B-side of the original Finnish language version 7").  Back in 1978 the UK branch of the record label SONET issued a set of three Eurovision entries on 7" singles in very similar design rare picture sleeves, these were the Austrian, Danish and this entry from Finland, probably the most rare  (Sonet, SON 2145).  This is a great opportunity to add a rare UK pressing with a unique picture sleeve of an alternative 'English' language version Eurovision entry to your 7" vinyl collection.  The vinyl is clean and shiny but shows some signs of previous use with one or two light scratches here and there although nothing major.  The ORIGINAL picture sleeve is in VG condition with some creasing and some writing on the front sleeve.  The original glue binding the sleeve has aged and unusually has discoloued the spine on one side of the back sleeve.  The exact item I have on auction can be seen on the camera photos both above and below.  This UK pressing with it's unique picture sleeve (different to the releases in other countries) virtually never turns up these days and in any case this entry is always very desirable on 7" single and therefore a great addition to any serious Eurovision singles collection!  This is now the very last copy of the rare 1978 Finnish entry in any version I still have left among my stocks so don't mis your chance to bid as I won't have Finnish or English versions again on auction once this unique picture sleeve UK pressing copy has been sold!

Back in the eighties and nineties I was quite well known among many Eurovision collectors around the world as I always stocked a large selection of Eurovision records and CD's and during the nineties even arranged and financed the official release to press some of the more rare entries for wider availability to collectors.  I provided a Discography and photos of all Eurovision releases in the UK for RECORD COLLECTOR magazine and provided recordings and worked to get clearance for tracks on an official UK Eurovision CD release issued by VIRGIN.  Due to moving house my Eurovision vinyl has been in safe storage for almost a decade.  I have recently acquired back the very last copies of my Eurovision vinyl stocks.  In many cases I am down to my very last copy of each entry, especially those in mint condition and I now plan to sell everything over the upcoming months, so keep checking back each week for new additions to my listings.

Watch the live performance of SEIJA SIMOLA with the original Finnish language version of the Finnish entry 'ANNA RAKKAUDELLE TILAISUUS' at the 1978 Eurovision Song Contest below !  Please remember before bidding that the 7" single on auction features ONLY the ENGLISH version!
