This is Year Zero (1975), when Eno turned everything upside down, said goodbye to guitars, to the 60s, to corny pop songs & produced this template which provided David Bowie with his Berlin trilogy - music pure, synthetic & beautiful - "treated" using non-instruments, Eno single-handley invented today's sonic landscape. Easily Eno's greatest solo work. This record has never dated and sounds as modern today as it did on this very first release - from the opening squall of Sky Saw to the baroque of St Elmo's fire, the motorik of In Dark Times and the exotica of Zawinul/Lava, the beautiful Becalmed and the somnolent Spirits Drifting
