WOW!!! WOW!!! WOW!!! MEGARARE and Hard-To-Find original Cisne Records very first Stereo press released by Cisne Records, made and distributed in Chile in 1974 by Discos Sur Ltda., licensed from Cisne Records, Mexico (uncredited), catalog number DS-1002, with hand etched matrix numbers RF-987-A DS-1002-A EB-CD in Side A and machine etched D2 (“2” handwritten) 1002 B RF-987-B (scratched code handwritten) EB-CD (“EB-CD” handwritten) in Side B, with traditional dark/silver Cisne Records labels of the period, with big “Cisne” logo at top. Yes, Sirs, ANOTHER FIND from Chile!!!

The first to say about this record “Canta Enrique Guzmán” (“Sings Enrique Guzmán” in English) is that it’s the album “QUE VUELVAS” (“You Come Back” in English), originally released in Mexico in 1973 by RAFF Records. And as you can see we had to wait until 1974 to see this album released in Chile but we got it with an UNIQUE FRONT PICTURE SLEEVE and with UNIQUE ALBUM TITLE!!! I include a picture of the original Mexican Picture Sleeve, so you can see and compare. The cover in Chile is made with two single pieces of cardboard, with full laminated front cover pasted on the flaps of back cover. Front and back cover keep strictly the original US artwork, but if you pay attention you will notice in Chile the color is slightly darker and, the main detail to notice, in Chile the artwork was cut in the borders, easy to see at bottom edge. Front cover has a picture of Enrique Guzmán, the same picture used in original Mexican back cover, with album title and full tracklist, with Cisne Records logo and text “Serie Oro” (“Gold Series” in English) at bottom right corner. Back cover keeps the same Mexican design, with the differences in album title and that picture of Enrique Guzmán is trimmed in this Chilean press, with the tracklist with full credits for songwriters and publishers of each song. In labels it’s the album title and the tracklist, with full credits for songwriters and additional information about the style of music of songs, “Ballad”. It’s interesting to notice that in both labels in the deadwax they etched the original Mexican original catalog number by Raff Records, because that’s the original very first press, but this Chilean release is licensed from Mexican Cisne Records, which reissued the album in Mexico. So, here you have the chance to get and own this great album by the legendary Mexican singer Enrique Guzmán, one of the pioneers of Rock and Roll music sung in Spanish late ‘50’s, released in Chile with UNIQUE PICTURE SLEEVE and UNIQUE ALBUM TITLE, a record maybe NEVER SEEN BEFORE and maybe auctioned here in eBay by the very first time and in great condition!!! A MUST TO HAVE for all fans, lovers and collectors of Latin Pop/Soul music of the ‘70’s and especially for fans lovers and collectors of Enrique Guzmán, Los Teen Tops and Juan Gabriel, who wrote 5 songs of this LP!!! WOW!!!

The cover was already described and it’s in great EX or EX+ condition the front cover, clean and clear, with some minimal wear in all edges, more evident in corners, some light creases and faint ring marks, and in EX- or EX condition the Side B, clean and clear, with evident age browning and faint blemishes, but in general free of marks of any kind and with all the seams intact, a real miracle for this so fragile kind of cover. The record is in great NM- or NM condition both sides, glossy and clean, with a very nice brand-new look, with only very soft scuffs, hard to see at first sight, which of course don’t affect play at all. Labels on both sides are in absolute NM or NM+ condition, clean and clear, with not even minimal spindle hole wear. The sound is the best part, it’s in absolute EX+ or even NM- condition both sides, loud, clear and clear, virtually no background noise (surface noise is normal in records from Chile), with only minimal occasional and barely audible soft crackles here and there, more evident in some silent parts if you pay attention, which of course don’t cause any distraction from the great sound this record keeps from the beginning to the end. Overall, this is a great record in this MEGARARE CHILEAN PRESS, with UNIQUE PICTURE SLEEVE and UNIQUE ALBUM TITLE, for sure a record with a very nice cover, a nice almost brand-new look, almost immaculate labels and great sound quality after about 49 years, which won’t disappoint anyone and will satisfy any serious collector who knows the real level of rarity of this record and especially in this condition. Yes, Sirs, ANOTHER FIND from Chile!!! WOW!!! Click on the pictures to enlarge and see the cover and labels in detail.

We don’t use the generic “VG” most of South American sellers use to hide poor quality conditions or “NM” or “Mint” for records which aren’t even clean and sound less than a normal “VG” in professional standards. We use the Record Collector’s Grading System with a little modification: we don’t use MINT grade but for Sealed records and we can use a + or – to show a most professional accurate description.

MINT (M): I only use this grade for Sealed records.

NEAR MINT (NM): The record itself is in like new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality (only some very very very light hairlines caused for the record rubbing the sleeve). The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in like perfect condition.

EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality, maybe some surface marks which doesn’t affect play. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

FAIR (F): The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

POOR (P): The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD (B): The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.
