Despite the title, the songs on this album lean more towards R&B than straight-up blues. This compilation is drawn from 1950’s singles, including Aaron Neville’s first single “Over You” and Jessie Hill’s Mardi Gras classic “Ooh Poo Pah Doo”. Some good stuff here if you like the New Orleans sound!
